A Workflow for Better Quality
Customer Story| Mayer & Co. Beschläge GmbH
How MACO Seamlessly Bridged the Gap Between Engineering and Quality Assurance to Significantly Enhance Part Quality
Against this backdrop, a comprehensive project was launched in late 2014 to improve the process chain between engineering and quality management. The goals were to reduce product development costs and maintain a competitive edge. A primary focus was placed on the automated creation of inspection documents. The aim was to replace a previously strictly manual procedure with a highly innovative process, thereby saving time and enhancing the quality and reliability of the inspection documents required for final approval
Über Mayer und Co. Beschläge GmbH
Mayer & Co Beschläge GmbH is a manufacturer of window, door, and wide-span systems, as well as a provider of innovative system and security solutions. In 2022, the Salzburg-based company employed approximately 2,600 people across 15 locations worldwide. MACO considers itself an innovation leader with exceptionally high environmental and quality standards. The latter was to be further expanded and underscored by the introduction of inspection planning software from neoapps.
It was clear to us that the gap between engineering and quality could only be closed if we based our process directly on the NX data. This is the only way to avoid a media break.

Project Objectives
During the kick-off workshops, the following critical success factors were defined for the project:
- Increased Automation
The creation of inspection documents for both First Article Inspection (FAI) and series production was to be automated and accelerated. - Transfer of Responsibility
The task of generating inspection reports was to be officially handed over to the Quality Assurance (QA) department. - Seamless Continuity
A solid, associative link between inspection documents and technical drawings was required—ensuring consistency throughout the entire product lifecycle and across all revisions. - Change Documentation
Automating the documentation of changes during version updates or revisions.
