Inspection Report for NX – Automated feature transfer for the creation of inspection reports
You can automate the creation of initial sample inspection reports using Inspection Report on the basis of NX CAD data to ensure the quality of the products you develop is excellent. This can provide you with time savings of up to 90% when creating PPAP documents.
Inspection Report manages the creation of initial sample inspection reports, which, otherwise, is an error-prone process, and Inspection Report automatically stamps the correct test numbers on all the features you select, such as dimensions, texts, surface finish or GD&Ts. Then, at the touch of a button, you can create perfectly formatted, error-free PPAP documents, such as initial sample test reports in any format and export these, for example, directly to a PLM system.
An overview of the advantages for you
- Time savings of up to 90% when creating PPAP documents
- Increased readability and clarity of the stamped technical drawings and initial sample test reports
- Error-free and associative feature transfer directly from the NX drawing
- Feature transfer directly from the 3D model (PMI)
- Improvement in the quality of the products that you manufacture
- Clear labelling of all features for improved communication with both internal and external stakeholders
- Management of the testing documents in a central PLM system

Connectivity options
In order to make the features that are relevant to quality accessible on a company-wide basis, Inspection Report has a very flexible interface that you can use to connect a broad range of PLM, CAQ or other target systems. Here is an extract of the most common systems:
- Teamcenter (incl. TC Quality)
- SAP PLM with ECTR
- CASQ-it by Böhme & Weihs
- PiWeb by Zeiss
- Calypso by Zeiss
- etc.
Communication with the target systems takes place either directly between a target system and the API provided or via exchange formats, such as ASCII or XML. This means that there are few limitations with regard to the transfer and distribution of information that is relevant to quality, whereby a stable and consistent process is ensured.
NX PMI and CMM
In order to ensure a seamless transition to production without drawings, use Inspection Report to stamp information that is relevant for manufacturing (PMI) directly on the 3D model in addition to 2D drawings. The stamped PMIs can then be exported as a feature list (e.g. Excel) or directly transmitted to NX CMM in order to create your measuring machine programmes automatically and to simulate your measurements. The assignment of general tolerances to the features is carried out automatically and depends on the feature type and the nominal value.

External storage
External storage provides you with the option of storing the stamp information in your own files on the hard disk or in a database instead of in part. This enables you, for example, to stamp drawings that have already been approved. The stamp files are stored as universally readable XML files.
Batch process for fully automated stamping
The software is also available as a batch version as well as an interactive NX plug-in version. This enables you to further increase the level of automation. An NX drawing or an NX 3D model is assigned collision-free stamps automatically after approval in the PLM system. Depending on the method of implementation, a list of features (initial sample test report) can be created at the same time or a comparison of the changes from previous versions can be produced.
